021. Park Benches, Yesung/Kyuhyun



Yesung hummed a soft tune under his breath as he sat on a park bench, feeling the breeze caress his face. The sound of children's laughter reached his ears and he smiled at the sight of little ones playing carelessly while their parents watched off to the side.

"You've been avoiding me, Jongwoon."

Yesung leaned back on the bench and folded his arms across his chest, his moment of peace shattered. "I didn't want to be near your stink," he said casually.

The flutter of a moving coat, and the man was sitting beside him. "My, that's not a very nice thing to say. Why would... ah..." Kyuhyun finally understood and smirked. "Do tell. It's faint but the scent on you is undeniable; you know who their Seer is. And not only that, you're acquainted. Where are you hiding him?"

Yesung frowned. "I'm not. I didn't know until I saw him talking to Heechul, and I wasn't even really sure until you told me." He remembered the cinema that day, when he told Eunhyuk to go in alone with the excuse of needing to leave a ticket for Hankyung. He was surprised when he saw Donghae walk up to Heechul, and when he moved closer to eavesdrop, was even more surprised by the words that were exchanged. He walked away just in time that Donghae didn't suspect anything.

Hankyung never joined them that day, because Yesung never left the ticket - it wouldn't bode well for him if those two were to meet. "But I don't want to upset anything right now," Yesung continued, breaking from his thoughts.

Kyuhyun let out a dramatic sigh. "It's times like these I question your loyalty, Jongwoon. You love too easily, and it's with all the wrong people. You made me leave Hankyung and his boy toy alone. And now you won't even tell me who the Seer is. Just what are you doing to help our cause?"

"Fine. If I think he'll cause trouble, I'll kill him. How does that sound for you, then?"

"Utterly pleasant," Kyuhyun grinned. He draped his left arm over Yesung's shoulders and pulled him closer so that he was leaning into him, Yesung's head resting on his chest. Kyuhyun breathed in the scent of his hair while fiddling with the cross pendant on the man's necklace, his fingers brushing lightly once or twice at the exposed skin.

"You're making the parents uncomfortable," Yesung observed, watching those who saw the scene hurriedly gather up their kids.

"I love it when they are. How's the little pet?" Kyuhyun asked, unashamedly unbuttoning two more of Yesung's shirt buttons to feel more of his bare skin.

Yesung smirked at the gesture. "Ryeowook's doing just fine, though he's a little obsessed with changing my ringtone all the time. Forcing him to kill his Virtue in his own mind - that was a nice touch, Kyuhyun, though a bit unnecessary. What else did you put in my chocolate?"

"This and that. I had to make sure if he was on our side that he wouldn't let some notion of heroics change his mind," he reasoned.

"Man without his humanity is a monster," Yesung said.

Kyuhyun held his chin and turned it up so they looked eye to eye. "You're all the human I need," he whispered.

Yesung shrugged nonchalantly, returning his head to the large chest and moved on to more serious matters. "The Awakening is in a few weeks. Do you know who he is yet?"

"I have a few candidates," Kyuhyun revealed, "Which reminds me..."

"What?" Yesung asked when the man said nothing else.

"I found something pretty you'll absolutely love me for," he said gleefully, "And it smells of watermelons." Yesung became intrigued. He got out of Kyuhyun's hold and looked at him with an amused smile.

"Now who's the one hiding secrets?"
